A day in the life of a JAKE GYLLENHAAL fan
HEY PICKLE EARS! I’m not one to go out of my way to entertain myself for an entire day, but something about this project just felt right. After getting off the phone with someone who is a die hard Gyllenhaal fan, I couldn’t help but think of how many times during the conversation I said “dude, he phones it in.” “He’s a man child.” “Not an actor I will stand by.” Yeesh JC, calm down. He’s just a man at the end of the day doing the best he can for himself, and his ever growing fan base of teenage mutant ninja turtles. But what bothered me is not necessarily him so much, it was his yuck film Love and Other drugs. Why did I see it? Because my mom has Parkinson’s and I was curious how a rom com about such a downer note was going to play out. Did it blow? I don’t know, I walked out half-way through to “smoke.” But my mom, after talking to her about it, said she still liked the way he (Jake) performed. So, here it is. Me on the other side of the Jake Gyllenhaal tracks. I need to see what all the fuss is about…And, boy is there a fuss.
